Juices have become SO trendy in the last few years.
THE BENEFITS? You can pack TONS of veggies into an easy to drink juice, giving you tons of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals in an easy to digest package.
THE DOWNSIDE – if your juice has lots of fruit in it, its going to spike your blood sugar which promotes fat storage and makes you crave more sugar later on. Not ideal.
I love a juice but all GREENS and only lemon 🍋 OR eat with some fiber, fat and protein to keep blood sugar balanced.
SMOOTHIES are a better option in my opinion.
First of all, unlike juicing which strips the fruit and veggies of fiber, it blends the whole food which stretches your stomach and turns off hunger hormones.
You can add in protein to fuel your muscles.
You can add in good fats to slow down digestion keeping you full longer and keeping your blood sugar stable preventing sugar cravings later on.
